The BDT newsletter – SPARKLE! is produced on a biannual basis, and will inform you of all the latest developments within BDT as well as keeping you abreast of how your generous donations have made a significant difference in the lives of the children attached to BDT’s beneficiaries.

BDT troupe on the warpath!
March 2009Once again we have decided to put our feet where our mouths are and once again embark on the "just walk" fund-raising event.
"Just Walk" - I hear you ask - what's that?Date - 9th May 2009
Location - Goodwood racecourse, Chichester, West Sussex
Objective - raise money for BDT beneficiaries!
This is a chance to literally put your feet where your mouths are by joining the BDT troupe on a glorious walking fundraiser across the glorious South Downs in West Sussex (Chichester countryside - past cows, fields, sheep and all that good country air).
There are various distances available for you to take part in and here is a guide on which distance would best suit you:
- 10 km - Used to walking to the coffee table to pick up the remote control!
- 20 km - Used to running after one or more children, running for the bus, running to the office, running to drop kids off for school!
- 40 km - Used to all of the above, but really want to push yourself to the next level.
- 60 km - Used to the above and are just super active & super fit or have simply lost your marbles!!!!!!
Registration for the walk is as follows
- 10 km - £15 (children under 12 free)
- 20 km - £45
- 40 km - £55
- 60 km - £65
However, if you decide to take part in the 20 km, 40 km or 60 km walk and commit to raise the MINIMUM of £100.00; BDT will gladly assist towards one night's hotel accommodation should you decide to come down the night before in order to be nice and fresh for the walk.
After you have successfully registered for the walk, the lovely people at Just Walk will send you a registration confirmation email.
This email should be forwarded to our fund-raising officer - Mwanida Aina along with your postal address and contact telephone number and in return you will receive a cheque of 75.00 towards hotel accommodation.
* (BDT truly appreciate your efforts, but please do not feel obliged to take up this offer, should you wish for all proceeds to go towards BDT's fund-raising efforts)
Last year a few of the BDT members bravely rose to the challenge and thoroughly enjoyed the day, as well as managing to raise £2500. But this year we want to see a flood of orange BDT T-shirts in the walk, in order to raise more funds for the amazing charities we support.
So please get out those walking shoes...and if you cant join us then please sponsor us!!!!!!!!
