Children in Nigeria

About 1 million Nigerian children die each year before their fifth birthday; this is a shocking 10 per cent of the global total.

Child and infant mortality continue to be major challenges in the face of widespread occurrence of malaria, vaccine-preventable diseases, diarrhoea and acute respiratory infections.

a few words about us

The trustees of Black Diamond Trust

We believe that every child should be valued equally, regardless of race, colour or circumstance. For every child is "A treasure beyond all measure".

Hearts of Gold Children's Hospice, Nigeria

Hearts of Gold Children's Hospice is the first children's hospice and respite care facility in Nigeria.

Hearts of Gold provides respite support, palliative care (comfort and pain management) and end-of-life care for children with life-threatening and terminal illnesses.

The house isn't a place of sadness and despair, Hearts of Gold offers the children a comfortable, caring and loving home of joy where all life is celebrated and a place where every precious moment counts.

It is our intention to work closely with Hearts of Gold and through fund-raising provide the hospice with items of extreme need, such as medicines (Paracetamol/Vitamin Syrups, Cough Mixtures) and through the educational sponsorship of a child.
