what we do

In 2006, 5 million children died on the African continent before reaching their fifth birthday, an average of nearly 14,000 a day.
Many of these children die of preventable and curable diseases, including Malaria, Diarrhea and Pneumonia - illnesses that thrive in poor communities where sanitation is severely compromised, and where residents are often undernourished and exposed to pollution. Another major killer is AIDS.
a few words about us
The Trustees

Jennifer Agyeman
I am pleased to be standing in the gap, raising awareness and funds so that children need not go without the "basics" in health and education.

Mwanida Aina
My aim within Black Diamond is to target orphanages and those providing care for children. To ensure that children from poor families receive and obtain basic education and are not forced into poverty due to lack of family funding.

Lola Bejide
It is my desire through Black Diamond Trust to assist mothers who are less fortunate than myself and through no fault of their own are unable to fulfil the educational / health needs of their children.

Claudia Bwayla
As a Black Diamond Trustee I am privileged and feel obliged to reciprocate so that I can touch children's lives and their families who are disadvantaged in various ways.

Yemisi Osu
As a Black Diamond Trustee, I am keen and eager to see this project grow and prosper in changing lives of children and am sure that BDT can deliver this message for generations to come.

Evelyn Van-Ess
Every effort that Black Diamond Trust makes, is a step closer to eradicating child poverty. So it is a privilege and an honour to be able to make a difference in the lives of children and their families as a trustee of BDT.
